Bawdy Clarence Carter at his braggadocios best. … Other double entendres and nastys are "Grandpa Can't Fly His Kite," "I'm Not Just Good, I'm the Best," and "Dr. CC." The rest feature Carter displaying his storytelling skills on good Southern soul numbers like "Slip Away," "Messin' With My Mind," and "I'm Between a Rock and a Hard Place."

Everybody more or less remembers CC's top 40s tune "Patches" and oldies radio stations seem to always include it in their weekly repertiore....no disrespect intended to those stations, but hey, 20 or 30 years after that hit, CC put out what I would consider classic urban blues jams--"Strokin'", "Love Me With A Feeling", "Dr. CC"--mostly performed via solo multitracking multiinstrumentalizing--rare for a blues star, rarer for anyone this side of Stevie Wonder and Prince. This man has one great voice...and a devilish laugh. This album has all of CC recent recordings on the Ichiban Label--excellent for parties and roadhouse get togethers.
