Reviews:
1. AllMusic - Thom Owens
Grievous Angels has a talent for blending honky tonk, rock & roll, and contemporary folk, creating a unique sound that has the musical muscle of the purest country, but the narrative force of the finest folk character sketches. Occasionally, their ambitions get the best of them, resulting in wordy songs with weak melodies, but most of One Job Town, is powerfully direct, with haunting vocals and stories, as well as excellent musicianship. Most noteworthy are "The Ballad of Leonard and Cecile," "Crossing the Causeway" and "Death's Dark Stream."
