Drinkhouse to Church House Vol. 1 (the first of a series of four) is a recorded documentary (with a video bonus) that explores both secular and sacred musical traditions from the American South. The album proposes 13 songs. He focus on 7 Music Maker’s artists (Captain Luke, Macavine Hayes, Whistlin Britches, Little Freddie King, Alabama Slim, John Dee Holeman, and Bishop Dready Manning & Family). Inside, a beautiful 24-page booklet and an about 15 minutes video program (to be watched on a computer) containing short interviews and performances of the 7 artists included into the album.
