Ryan Reardon and The Levee Breakers – Walking in Golden Sunshine
This skin tight ensemble plays hook-laden, song-oriented blues that's heavy on danceable shuffles and swing with a healthy dose of swamp blues and Memphis soul. Ryan Reardon & The Levee Breakers won't beat you over the head with a bunch of guitar heavy slop. The song is what matters here and each is a hit, while together they make a cohesive album. That's not to say that the musicianship is anything less than professional though. This is a well performed and produced CD that is easy on the ears. Robert Fontenot of Offbeat Magazine calls this "blues cool". "Solid ensemble sound, tight arrangements, and solid writing distinguish this Alabama quartet". -Blues Access.
