Louisiana Red & Sugar Blue – Red Funk N’ Blue-the Complete 1978 Recordings – 2CD
€19,36
Description
April 1978. Louisiana Red had made his first English appearance just a few months before at the end of 1977. It was only the second tour I had booked incidentally. But Red was the artist who said: “Give me some money and let’s make an album.” And so a label was born. So here we are, warts and all so to speak, but the ‘beauty’ shines through.
Louisiana Red was a great bluesman who was the youngest of the postwar generation of legends and absolutely at his peak. Sugar Blue was then a young man starting out who plays with real originality, no copyist. This album is a document of an evening in London that will never come again.
