Reviews:

1. AllMusic -Scott Yanow
Rare live performances (all from 1957) featuring trumpeter Roy Eldridge in four different settings are heard on this collectors' LP. He excels with a no-name quintet and a quartet, leads an all-star group (taken from a television show) that includes Bud Freeman on tenor, clarinetist Buddy DeFranco, trombonist J.J. Johnson and Art Van Damm on accordion for two numbers and jams a blues with Freeman and an otherwise-unidentified band. The recording quality is decent and, although the results are not essential, this English import album will be greatly enjoyed by Roy Eldridge's fans for the fiery trumpeter is heard in his prime.
