Description
Bassist and composer Or Bareket, known for his distinct lyricism, rhythmic dexterity, and groove-centric approach releases YŌM via Enja Yellowbird. The album features a powerhouse ensemble in the form of Godwin Louis on alto and soprano saxophone, Jeremy Corren on piano, Savannah Harris on drums, and was produced by vibraphonist Joel Ross.
YŌM represents a new evolution for his group and for Bareket as a leader/composer. Energetic, focused, and wide-ranging in its emotional content, yetrigorous and patient in its delivery, the music on the new record is a response to the many collective and personal reckonings of navigating the fast-moving, post-covid world.
