Description

Santana's Sacred Fire Tour was undertaken across the world in 1994, supporting the 1993 live album Sacred Fire: Live in South America. Beginning on 24th February at Burbank's NBC Studios, and concluding on December 31st at the Oakland Coliseum, the tour was a major success for the group. Between these two dates the band performed across the USA and Canada, plus right through Europe, and in Japan, Mexico and Africa. Despite being on the road for the best part of a year, Santana's final show of this lengthy jaunt was as dynamic and powerful as their first, but the concert generally regarded among fans as the tour's pinnacle, was played in Warsaw, Poland, on October 7th. The only date on the tour to have been undertaken in Eastern Europe - the former Iron Curtain, which had only been lifted a few years before - the Warsaw concert was nothing short of a carnival, which was additionally broadcast across Poland for fans of this seminal band among the Polish people to hear live, having been starved for so long of such elegant and succulent music.
