Description

Playing the blues since 1979. Living the Blues his whole damn life! Bob Lanza embarked on his blues journey in 1979, navigating the vibrant tri-state area scene through the 80s, 90s, and into the 2000s. Many Sunday afternoons were spent hanging at Dan Lynch's bar blues jam, hosted by the Holmes Brothers. That introduced him to some of the greats of the time. In 2006, Bob was asked by James Cotton to be his backing band on a few northeast gigs. That started a relationship with Cotton that lasted 10 years. A participant in the 2011 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, the band gained national recognition which led to a signing to Connor Ray Music in Houston, Texas in 2015. Collaborations with artists like Trudy Lynn, Steve Krase, and Ally Venable, to name a few, introduced him to a new audience of blues lovers. TEXAS PEOPLE!!
Of Bob's past five CDs, the three he's done with Connor Ray Music propelled his career. Two CDs, Hero to Zero and Time to Let Go, peaked at number 5 on The National Billboard Blues Charts. Bob's last album, Kids Dogs and Krazy Women, debuted at number 5 on the Billboard Blues Charts and reached #15 on BB King's Rack of Blues radio program on Sirius Satellite Radio. Recognized in the New Jersey Blues Hall of Fame, the Bob Lanza Blues Band delivers hard-driving blues and up-tempo swing, captivating audiences with each performance.
