Little Rachel is purely in the tradition of Little Richard, Etta James, Larry Williams, Big Mama Thornton, Ray Charles, T-Bone Walker and Muddy Waters. And it is more than just style. She got the voice and the spirit as well, really making it cook and steam. This is very authentic stuff. Right down to the sound production ... trying to make it sound similar to records of the 50's. This sounds wonderful, it is a collection of songs impossible not to like. Everyone knows what R&B has turned into now- a-days ... seems to mean boring. But now, Little Rachel has transformed this good old music back to the hard-boiling, basic, roots of rock and roll. What a treat!
