Roshell Anderson straddles the fence between countrified soul humor a la Clarence Carter and Bobby Rush, and the urban arrogance and macho posturing of gangsta rappers. He buttresses this with blues elements, creating something that doesn't always work, but clicks often enough to keep you listening.
