Blues Harp Legend JAMES HARMAN hit # 1 on the Living Blues Radio Charts with his Electro-Fi debut disc “Bonetime” back in 2015, not to mention 5 BMA nominations including “Album of the Year”. Now James is back with “fineprint” and it’s a cause for celebration, with 13 Original tracks, both newly recorded and specially selected from James’ incredible music archives.
Special Guests include Gene Taylor (Fab. T-Birds) and Jeff Turmes (Mavis Staples). James Harman describes himself as a full service Bluesman since 1962, and he’s Z.Z. Top’s first call Harpman. “fineprint” is sure to be welcomed into the company of the top Blues recordings of 2018.

Wekelijks wil ik op de hoogte blijven van releases all over the world. Eén van mijn te raadplegen bronnen is de hitlijst. De hitlijst in diverse landen. In de States kijk ik bijvoorbeeld altijd even hoe de albums scoren op Roots Music Report. Van Nederlandse lijsten in het verleden werd nogal eens gezegd dat ze gemanipuleerd waren of dat in de States ook zo is weet ik niet. Wel zie ik muzikanten uit sommige artiestenstallen wel heel vaak top staan en uit het niets terug komen, maar dat zou dan aan de rapporterenden moeten liggen. Nou ja zeg het maar. James Harman viel me vorige week plotseling op en zie daar plotseling ligt de cd ook voor me.
James Harman is een in Atlanta ,Georgia geboren 71-jarige muzikant. Zoals zo vaak al op jonge leeftijd begonnen met het bespelen van een instrument (piano, 4 jaar oud). Via het kerkkoor en een muzikale vader die hem meerdere instrumenten leert bespelen wordt James al snel een rasmuzikant. Tel daarbij op dat hij met bijna alle grote jongens en meisjes uit de scene op het podium heeft gestaan en je begrijpt al dat we hier te maken hebben met een zeer ervaren musician. James zingt,speelt en improviseert dat het een lieve lust is. Blues waar je vrolijk van wordt. dertien titels tel ik en allemaal even mooi op een eigen manier. Hier hoef je niet bang te zijn dat je je gaat vervelen. Wat een heerlijk album is ‘Fineprint’.
Fijngevoelig geproduceerd en voor mij geen wonder dat het inde hitlijsten verschijnt. James’ cd kun je ongezien uit de cd-bak aanschaffen.
Wat een plaat. Need I say more?
