Description

Bandleader Hans de Vries is a passionate fan of artists like Jimmy Reed, Ray Charles and Taj Mahal. Some of their nice, catchy rhythm & blues and rockin' influences are to be found on this record which provides a nice selection of tempos (you're not always beaten over the head, nor are you left without that tappin' toe). It's a four-man band, but these guys sound like five. Martin Hutchinson's sharp Texas Telecaster has plagued many a stage with his stinging axe work and furthermore, Homesick's harmonica playing dishes out a variety of tasty shots. His voice is plenty strong and perfectly suited to the material too. This CD is great fun and we listen to it repeatedly.
